Here is the procedure to update PunkBuster in your PC and thus avoid being evicted from our Battlefield servers.

First, please download the following two (2) software (Windows) :

Download « pbsetup.exe » (LINK # 2)
Download « pbsvc.exe » (LINK # 2)

Here are the instructions for « pbsetup.exe » :

1. Create a folder on your desktop and name it « PunkBuster » ;
2. Move « pbsetup.exe » to the « PunkBuster » folder ;
3. Run « pbsetup.exe » from the « PunkBuster » folder ;
4. Accept the « Terms and Conditions » (« EULA ») ;
5. If the software needs to be updated, accept the update ;
6. Choose the game you have and click on « Add Game ». Repeat for all your games. If your game directory is not the default one, simply point « PunkBuster » to the root directory of your game ;
7. Then click on « Update PunkBuster ».

NOTE : Make sure NOT to block « PunkBuster » in your Anti-Virus and / or Firewall.

Here are the instructions for « pbsvc.exe » :

1. Create a folder on your desktop and name it « PBsvc » ;
2. Move « pbsvc.exe » to the « PBsvc » folder ;
3. Run « pbsvc.exe » from the « PBsvc » folder ;
4. Accept the « Terms and Conditions » (« EULA ») ;
5. If the software needs to be updated, accept the update;
6. Make sure the « Install / Re-Install PB Services » option is checked ;
7. Then click on « Test Services ».

If the « PnkBstrA » and « PnkBstrB » services had a problem, by doing this (with « pbsvc.exe ») should fix your problem. If the issue persist, you can « Uninstall / Reinstall » the services.
